Lamp Redo

I bought this cute lamp on sale at Target for $7, unfortunately my toddler liked it too and accidentally knocked it over and broke the glass.

Not wanting to throw it away, I decided to try to make a new base for it.

I looked in our garage for something that might work and found this PVC pipe. I marked it to length and cut it using some metal cutters.

I also cut a slit up the middle in order to wrap it around the base of the lamp.

It fit! So then I decided how I was going to cover up this unattractive PVC pipe.

I had this great floral rope that I got at Hobby Lobby for another light project. It's nice because it has a wire through it and is easily bendable.

I cut three long pieces and began braiding it.

Then, I wrapped it around the PVC pipe and held it in place with hot glue.

It took about 20 minutes and didn't cost me anything since I had all the supplies already. Saved me from throwing it away and I like the result!
