Custom Shutters for Boho Farm

My sweet friend, Caroline, of Boho Farm and Home, asked me to make her some shutters for the carriage house behind their new downtown home. I was eager to get started! She drew up the design and sent me on my way with a pile of wood. Finding the uninterrupted time to work on these was the hardest part of this project!

DIY: Painting the House Exterior

Top: Before, Bottom: After
I feel like every post pretty much starts the same way, with me saying, "Since we moved into our house two and a half years ago, I've been wanting to change...." and this one is no different. Our house had such good bones, but so many things we wanted to change/update. The exterior of our house was not a color that I would have chosen. I feel like living in the Southwest, every house is a slightly different shade of tan or brown. And if you've been around my blog for very long, you have seen that those are my least favorite colors.

Painting Our Bathroom Cabinets

Being married to a banker, I am always trying to stretch a dollar as far as it will go and I feel like fresh paint is one of the best ways to do that. You can completely change the look of a room, or piece of furniture, simply by painting it.

Custom Wine Fridge Cabinet DIY

When we bought our house, our realtor got us this really nice (32+ bottle) wine fridge as a housewarming gift (I know, how lucky?!) The only problem was finding a place to put it. When we remodeled our kitchen, there really wasn't room in the existing cabinet layout. We moved the wine fridge from room to room, until finally deciding to build a custom cabinet for it so that it would tie into the kitchen.

Easter Tablescape

Easter is one of my favorite holidays. Mostly, I love the story of love behind it, that Jesus loved us so unconditionally that he was willing to suffer and die in order that we might be forgiven for our sin, and that we no longer have to be separated from God. And secondly, I love that it's springtime, with all the beautiful flowers blooming and birds chirping...Aaahhh!

Wood Place Settings

I came across this really fun idea for wooden place settings (also called chargers) for a dinning table and thought these would be the perfect gift for a friend's birthday. Her house is amazing! Everywhere you look is beautiful! So I thought she might like them.

Here's the original idea from the Shanty 2 Chic sisters (who are so talented!!) I made a few changes to mine...

Peony Wall Mural

After having the beautiful Birch Tree mural painted in our son's nursery, I wanted to add a mural to our daughter's room too, her room felt a little bare.  Since my mother is a very talented artist, I'm able to have her help with projects and they always turn out beautifully.
