Master Bedroom Remodel

We are very excited to finally be back in our bedroom! After the fire, and subsequent smoke and water damage we needed to almost gut the whole bedroom and bathroom. Which gave us the opportunity to design it to better suit our needs.

The room was pretty large and the bathroom was long and narrow. We decided to make the bedroom slightly smaller and give that extra square footage to the bathroom in order to add a bathtub and relocate the shower.

In order to make the bathroom larger, we needed to relocate the closets. We moved the door coming into the room, and took out a window.

Once the drywall was up, we could get a better feel for the space.

This is standing in the doorway walking into the room and looking toward the bathroom.

This photo was after the carpet was installed and the walls were painted.

The carpet is called Twilight Grey, and I chose an off-white color for the walls: Sherwin Williams Creamy (SW 7012) and the trim is Sherwin Williams High Reflective White (SW 7757)

I ventured to IKEA one day after church to buy our closet organizers. It's always an adventure going to IKEA, then once you get home you realize now you have to figure out how to assemble everything! Joe and I waited until the kids went to bed and tackled it together with a beer and glass of wine.

Once the carpet, trim and paint were done we could finally move our bed in and hang the chandelier. We purchased a mattress from Tuft & Needle mattress and let me tell you, it is awesome! We love it and would definitely recommend it. The chandelier is from one of my favorite vintage shops on Cave Creek rd called Everything Goes. I always find great things there for reasonable prices, love them!

I think the one thing I was most excited about in our new bedroom was the wallpaper. I had the idea that I wanted wall paper from the beginning and we had the drywallers finish the walls flat so that I could hang wallpaper.

I ordered it online at Burk Decor. It's Equiox Cork Print Wallpaper in Dark Blue by Ronald Redding for York Wallcoverings.

I am in love! It makes me smile every time I walk into the room and see it!

The bedding is another thing I really enjoyed picking out. The duvet cover and three European pillow shams are from Restoration Hardware, in a light camel color. The two white pillow coverings are Ralph Lauren Home, the two square pillows are Lauren, Ralph Lauren Home as well as the center sparkly accent pillow. The bed blanket is Lauren, Ralph Lauren and the sheets are Costco!

We decided to add a door with a barn door track to save room in the space. This is going into the bathroom.

Here's a quick shot of how the closet organizers turned out. I need to make another trip to IKEA to get a few more shelves.

We still have a few things to finish up, like adding closet doors and some artwork on the walls but we are thrilled with how things are shaping up! We are so thankful to everyone who has worked on our house since the fire. Shout out to Arizona Carpet and Restoration, for really holding our hands through this and all their staff who went above and beyond for us - Russ, Jennifer, Jenn, Katie, Frank, Henry, Michelle - Thank you guys! And to First Team by Butler for taking care of our clothing and textiles that were salvageable!
