Fall Wreath

Each year I anticipate the arrival of fall more than any other season. I think it's because in the desert, it seems like fall will never come and when it finally does, that means the most beautiful months of weather are in front of us. We have gorgeous winter months here in Phoenix.

I decided to start planning my fall front door decor even though I won't be putting it out for several weeks yet. First, I think of the wreath. It's one of the first parts of your home that guests see when the come to your home. It sets the tone for the rest of the house.

Bathroom Facelift X2

The same clients that we did an update to their fireplaces, also asked us to remodel a full bathroom and half bath in their second home here in Phoenix.

Here's the bathroom before the demo:

Updated Fireplaces

I had the privilege of helping a young couple update their second home here in Phoenix a few months ago. We remodeled their two family rooms, pantry, bathroom and half bath. The ceilings in this home are quite high and there are lots of windows to let in the natural light. It was a beautiful home to start with and now that the updating is complete it's even better!

Here's the first fireplace from start to finish:

DIY Pillows from Drapes

As some of you might know, I work at Pottery Barn part-time. So as you could imagine, I'm always looking at all of the beautiful things and wondering how I can use them in my house. I found these beautiful drapes that I just loved the fabric. I thought..."hmmm these would make some beautiful pillows! And for a fraction of the price of buying actual pillow covers."

DIY Bench

My parents had this old wooden box sitting in their garage that they no longer wanted. And knowing not to throw things away before asking me if I want them, they offered it to me and I thought I could do something cool with it.

Hutch Makeover

I had been looking for a hutch to add to our home for a little more than a year. The perfect one (with the perfect price tag) was hard to find! I came across this one on OfferUp for $40! and I snagged it up quickly. It needed a lot of work but I could see it's potential.

What other techniques do you use to distress furniture? I'd love to hear, leave me a comment!

Christmas Home Tour

Each year I look forward to decorating our home for Christmas. It's such a wonderful time of year full of special moments that we hold onto all year long. The week of Thanksgiving I usually start putting out a few small holiday decorations (and my husband puts up the outdoor lights), then over the next two weeks I continue bringing things out of storage. It's a process, especially if you have little ones like we do. Trying to get anything done takes a lot of concentration and many attempts. I hope you enjoy walking though our home with me...
